Take Intel® Arc™ graphics on the go with the Dell XPS 15

by Intel Gaming |

Intel’s most comprehensive media engine for video editing just got more portable. The Dell XPS 15 packs a full photo and video editing studio into one sleek, lightweight, and responsive package, made even better with the Intel® Arc™ A370M inside.

Create with the World’s Most Comprehensive Media Engine

The new Dell XPS 15 is more powerful than ever before. This lightweight laptop has desktop-like power from its 13th Gen Intel Core i7, giving you more processing capability than previous generations for more time creating, less time waiting. This 5 GHz CPU speeds through tasks, enhanced even further with the Intel Arc A370M graphics processor and a whole host of Intel Deep Link synergies between both processors.

With the mix of performance and efficiency cores inside the 13th Gen Intel CPU, the Dell XPS 15 sips power in light usages and has the muscle for modern workloads like artificial intelligence. Hyper Compute shares the AI accelerators in both the CPU and the Intel Arc GPU, meaning your video stylizations, image generation, and resolution enhancements work smarter and harder with Intel Deep Link. Upscaling footage from 1080p to 4K in Topaz Video AI runs 17% faster with both processors’ AI hardware engaged compared to using the Intel Arc A370M alone. That’s also 5x faster than using the CPU by itself! 1

The laptop’s 15.6” screen stretches edge-to-edge with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and plenty of brightness to work and game wherever you like. The Xe Media Engine included in the Intel Arc A370M makes pro-level editing a breeze: edit and export high dynamic range video up to 8K resolution with any video codec you prefer, including the AV1 codec which saves bandwidth and storage space. AV1 can be encoded with software on the Intel Core i7, but the Intel Arc A370M does it a whopping 28x faster. 1

Dynamic Power Share, another intelligent Deep Link feature, puts watts where they matter most – either to the Intel CPU or GPU. Both processors can encode video, so why not use both? Hyper Encode, another Deep Link feature, uses both media engines simultaneous to export video files faster than either could alone. In DaVinci Resolve, 4K video transcoding speeds up by 26%. 2

In addition to being a blazing fast editing workhorse, this Intel Evo certified laptop is designed for convenience too. You’ll get over 8.5 hours of battery life, wake times under a second, and the most capable Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi 6E. 3 This means you won’t waste time getting started, all without sacrificing processing power.

Tough and Beautiful

To stand up to the demands of the world, Dell built a solid chassis with the latest XPS 15 laptop which won’t unnecessarily weigh you down. At 4.2 pounds (1.9 kg), it’s hard to beat the performance-per-pound of the XPS 15. A CNC-milled aluminum body takes the brunt of traveling the world, while a stylish carbon fiber interior panel keeps your hands cool and components protected.

Even in the 0.7 inch (18 mm) tall body, Dell packed plenty of useful connectors into the XPS 15. Designed with creators in mind, the body smartly includes a full SD card slot – something you won’t find on every laptop. Three more USB-C connectors make room for peripherals, and even though you won’t find an aging rectangular USB-A port on the laptop, Dell includes an adapter so your favorite devices still connect. Got a wired headset you love? Dell’s got an ⅛th inch audio jack for you too.

Work Hard, Play Hard

Want a laptop for more than just content creation? Take a break with the gaming capabilities of the Intel Arc A370M and Core i7, perfect for the XPS 15’s full HD+ screen and modern games at medium settings. We tested ten games on the Dell XPS 15 like Final Fantasy XIV, Strange Brigade, and GRID Legends, all of which run over 60 FPS. Looking for competitive framerates? This laptop handles War Thunder and Rainbow Six Siege with ease, both around 120 FPS. 4

Looking for even more frames per second? Like the rest of Intel Arc GPUs, you don’t need to choose between playing at fullscreen resolutions and turning those settings up – get both with Intel XeSS, now supported in over 50 games. Even some of the most demanding games run at over 60 FPS with XeSS Performance enabled, like Hitman 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. 5

Premium Portable Performance at Hand

When it comes to choosing a laptop, getting a machine that does it all can be tough. It’s even tougher to do on a budget. The Dell XPS 15 configuration we tested costs just $1,499 as of June 21st 2023 – not bad for a machine built for creating, gaming, all-day battery life, and lightweight portability.
