The pitch from self-publishing developer MoreFun Studios includes top-tier visual realism, lifelike audio, and perhaps above all a fair and competitive community for its trigger-happy fans. <s>&nbsp;<\/s>Intel Gaming Access chased down Bryan Li, Lead Game Designer from MoreFun Studios to go over some key tactics ahead of the game\u2019s Season 1 launch.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/game.intel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Arena-Breakout-Infinite-Season-Web-1920x1080-2-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8314\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\"<em>Arena Breakout: Infinite <\/em>is the first free-to-play Games-as-a-Service (GaaS) extraction shooter on the market,\u201d notes Bryan, setting out MoreFun\u2019s stall from the off. \u201cIt\u2019s suitable for both hardcore shooter game players and newcomers, even if you are new to extraction gameplay. The gameplay of ABI is straightforward: equip, fight, and extract. Every aspect of the game is designed with this core gameplay loop in mind.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the gameplay loop at the heart of the experience is probably close to what you\u2019d expect, the team has tweaked a bunch of other things to improve the experience, notably taking the foot off the gas when it comes to its commitment demands. \u201cUnlike many other extraction shooters where players need to play daily to obtain loot and avoid falling behind, <em>Arena Breakout: Infinite <\/em>takes a different approach, allowing players to join at any time during the season and have a unique experience,\u201d says Bryan. \u201cOur focus is on providing a repeatable and sustainable single-match-based experience, rather than emphasizing RPG-style accumulation. Our current motto is, \u2018easy come, easy play, easy go, easy return.\u2019\u202f We hope to lower the barrier of entry to extraction shooters, allowing more people to enjoy the genre.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" width=\"719\" height=\"404\" src=\"https:\/\/game.intel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8262\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no compromise when it comes to the gut-punch of the game\u2019s core experience, however. \u201cPlayers are going to get a realistic, hardcore military simulation experience featuring intense combat, extreme tactical gameplay, a wide range of weapons and gunsmith options, and quite a few quality-of-life features to help players get started quickly,\u201d says Bryan. \u201cPlayers define the fun of the game\u2014whether it&#8217;s eliminating more enemies, looting supplies, or engaging in tactical gameplay where you can achieve big wins with a small investment. Ultimately, it&#8217;s all about extracting successfully.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the development of <em>Arena Breakout: Infinite<\/em>, the team at MoreFun hit a few interesting snags. \u201cOne of the main challenges was ensuring consistent performance across devices,\u201d explains Bryan. \u201cSince our goal was to attract as many players as possible, we had to strike a balance between visuals and performance. To address this, we conducted extensive performance optimization, particularly in graphics rendering and resource management. We utilized advanced tools and engine technologies to perform detailed performance analyses, ensuring the game would run smoothly on various hardware configurations.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"719\" height=\"404\" src=\"https:\/\/game.intel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8256\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Balancing is key to nailing the game feel of any shooter, an ongoing task that the team has already worked hard on via its closed beta testing program among other methods. \u201cAnother challenge was designing the in-game combat system to maintain fairness while delivering tension and excitement,\u201d says Bryan. \u201cTo achieve this, we went through multiple iterations and internal tests, gathered feedback from our team and players, and continuously adjusted the game mechanics to ensure an excellent gaming experience for everyone.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Intel has been supporting MoreFun Studios during development, with the aim of ensuring the best possible experience for the greatest number of players. \u201cWe greatly value our partnership with Intel, particularly regarding the integration of XeSS 1.2,\u201d says Bryan. \u201cBy working closely with the Intel team, we optimized the game&#8217;s graphical performance, providing a smoother and more immersive experience. This integration not only enhances graphics quality but also improves operational efficiency, allowing gamers to enjoy a better experience across various hardware configurations.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"719\" height=\"404\" src=\"https:\/\/game.intel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8260\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe tools and technical support provided by Intel were very helpful during the development process,\u201d continues Bryan. \u201cFor instance, when optimizing the game&#8217;s graphical performance, we utilized Intel&#8217;s performance analysis tools which helped us identify several areas for improvement, particularly in graphics rendering and physics simulation.
