Since the introduction of Xe<\/sup>SS in 2022 alongside the launch of Intel Arc A-Series, over 200 games<\/a> have been supercharged with greater performance thanks to AI-based super resolution upscaling technology (Xe<\/sup>SS-SR). Shortly following launch, support was quickly extended to Intel\u00ae Core\u2122 Ultra processors with built-in Intel\u00ae Arc\u2122 GPUs, providing a better gaming experience for millions of desktop and laptop gamers around the globe.<\/p>\r\n

Xe<\/sup>SS 2 boldly pushes this further with the addition of gameplay-smoothing AI-based frame generation (Xe<\/sup>SS-FG) and reduced lag with low latency (Xe<\/sup>LL) technologies. Intel\u2019s game engineering team recently released the Xe<\/sup>SS 2<\/a> SDK to enable quick and easy integration by developers, and adoption is picking up with 19 games now offering the new suite of technologies.<\/p>\r\n

In nearly a dozen fan-favorite games tested on the Intel Arc B580, Xe<\/sup>SS 2 can be seen at work, drastically increasing baseline FPS performance and consistency to deliver more frames for a smoother gaming experience. From the hugely popular Diablo IV, experiencing a 4x increase, to the brand-new Assassin\u2019s Creed Shadows, getting a 2.4x increase in FPS.\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

Want to experience better gaming on-the-go? Not to worry, the greatness of Xe<\/sup>SS 2 is also available on select Intel\u00ae Core Ultra processors (Series 2) with built-in Intel Arc GPUs! Tested using the same games as above, an Intel\u00ae Core\u2122 Ultra 9 285H with built-in Intel Arc 140T GPU hits 40+ FPS across the board, with many titles easily surpassing 60 FPS. Notably, Marvel Rivals at high settings sees an uplift of 187%, from 23 FPS at native settings to 66 FPS with Xe<\/sup>SS 2 enabled.<\/p>\r\n

To go with added gameplay fluidity, Xe<\/sup> Low Latency (or Xe<\/sup>LL for short) is also a part of the Xe<\/sup>SS 2 arsenal to increase responsiveness and make you feel more connected to the game. Across three fast-paced titles that we tested, there was an average of 45% reduced latency so that every strafe, snipe and steering action you take is reflected faster on screen – especially handy for multiplayer games where every millisecond counts.<\/p>\r\n
