STAR WARS: Galactic Racer launched October 6, and the reviews are interstellar. If you’ve been off-planet, let us catch you up. Set in the lawless Outer Rim after the Empire is gone, STAR WARS: Galactic Racer focuses on an underground speed-circuit called the Galactic League, where shadowy syndicates bankroll the ambitions of ruthless racers. It’s an absolute blast(er) with an incredible range of STAR WARS-worthy vehicles, and would-be champions are lining-up to get behind the wheel. Check out the trailer here.
We kicked off our countdown to the title’s release with a chat with Fuse Games, which you can find here. We previewed the brand-new skim speeder, were in awe of the astounding visuals, and tried very hard not to lose our cool over the return of the podracer. We are not the only ones feeling the excitement for this title. At the time of writing, Metacritic registered 88% positive reviews. And positive seems a tame word for some of these 10/10 raves. Critics have noted the absolutely stunning rendering of the STAR WARS universe (the circuit isn’t fixed, you race on multiple planets, including Tatooine) and the haptics, with Christian Donlan at Eurogamer saying the boost when cornering “jolted me back in my chair”. Screenrant dubbed the game “everything that fans of both the franchise and the genre could want”.
